"I
derive my design inspiration in a wide variety of artistic expressions,
from African art to contemporary sculptures. My jewelry is an
eclectic mix of textures, techniques and cultural references
that come together to create a collection of special interest". ~ Alishan
Alishan
Halebian was born and educated in Armenia and after moving to
United States in 1970, he continued his studies in art and design
at a local college, while working at the Los Angeles jewelry
district. He taught himself the craft of goldsmith, which in
turn provided him the freedom to design in jewelry. With a background
in drawing, sculpture, and furniture design, Alishan prefers
to work with three dimensional forms; he approaches his jewelry
as a miniature sculpture that is wearable. His talent and passion
for designing jewelry is highly recognized among fellow American
and International colleagues, and his creations have been exhibited
in museums and galleries throughout the nation. Alishan continues
to express his artistic talent in his oil and water color paintings,
which inspire his jewelry designs.
He
is a recipient of numerous International and American Jewelry
Design Competition awards and has earned a membership in the
highly respected American Jewelry Design Council. Alishan's
contemporary designs, merged with classical art elements bring
exquisite style to his jewelry collection which can be found
in the finest retail jewelry stores in America. His discerning
clientele are attracted to his designs for their notably individual
characteristics, and for uncompromising high quality of craftsmanship.
